Experience:

Stephanie joined Phoenix Group in June 2024 with a broad range of experience in the financial services sector from both a technical and commercial perspective.

Stephanie previously held the role of Chief Financial Officer at abrdn plc (‘abrdn’) and was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where she led the Financial Services Assurance practice and was a member of the Assurance Executive. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and previously served as the Chair of the Audit Committee for the Institute, she is also an associate of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

Stephanie previously sat on the Board of Phoenix Group Holdings plc, as the Shareholder Nominated Director for abrdn, from 1st July 2022 to 11 May 2023.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Supports the Group Chief Executive Officer in formulating the Group strategy and managing the Group’s key external stakeholders.
  • Develops and delivers the Group’s financial business plan in line with strategy.
  • Ensures resilience, effective management and control of the Group’s balance sheet and solvency position.
  • Develops and delivers the Group’s debt capital strategy, tax and other treasury matters.
  • Ensures effectiveness of processes to meet the Group’s external reporting obligations.
  • Enhances shareholder value through clear, rigorous assessment of growth opportunities and M&A in line with the Group’s capital allocation framework.
